SLI Serves: San Antonio Food Bank

Fighting Hunger! Feeding Hope! Fighting Hunger! Feeding Hope!

Student Leadership Institute (SLI) student leaders had the opportunity to experience what it takes to prepare over 4,000 boxes of food for senior citizens at the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) on two different service days in May. The boxes provided meals for food insecure senior citizens in the San Antonio area.

Student leaders took on different roles during each 2.5 hour shift: some assembled boxes, while others filled the boxes as they were pushed down an assembly line, and some picked up the trash everyone else created. Everyone went home with a feeling of good - and sweaty - work.
