Our Leadership Contribution

Last week, the Student Leadership Institute student leaders served the community at the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB). Over 50 SLIers spent the morning learning more about how the SAFB works, who they serve, and the need for volunteers before jumping in to help. Together with volunteers from other organizations, they sorted 34,530 lbs of food and packed 27624 meals for children and seniors in the San Antonio region! Way to go!

In the afternoon, SLI reconvened for lunch and the Leader of Leaders session at the Westside Education and Training and Center (WETC). The Leaders of Leaders, Gene Gonzalez, Manager of the WETC, and Manual Garza from the WETC Advisory Board, shared their experiences as advocates for the community.
